There is a temple dedicated to Budhan – Mercury - one of the Navagrahas – nine planets – at Thirvengadu, near Sirkali, in Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Aadi Chidambaram and Nataraja’s dance is known as Hasti Natanam. Nataraja is said to have performed six dances in this holy spot. Chidambara rahasya is also here. Lord Vishnu has a place near Nataraja, as in Chidambaram.
Thiruvengadu is considered on a par with the holy city of Kashi.
It is also one among the 51 Sakthi Peetas.
The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, called Swedaranyeswarar, Nataraja and Agoramurthy.
Ambal - Brahma Vidyambal, Swetha Mahakalai, Maha Durga.
Holy water - Agni, Suryan and Chandra theerthas.
